Kaneka secures data with HPE and Cohesity

3-2-1-1-0… Let’s go!

Our approach leverages the 3-2-1-1-0 backup rule: always maintain 3 copies of data on 2 different media, 1 offsite and 1 immutable, with 0 errors in the backup.

  • 3 copies of your data
You need at least the original data and 2 backup copies. This redundancy ensures that even if one backup fails or is compromised, another will save the day.
  • 2 different types of storage
Store your backups on 2 different types of storage media, such as: internal or external drives, network attached storage (NAS), cloud, etc. This minimizes the risk of data loss due to failures specific to one type of storage medium.
  • 1 copy stored offsite or in the cloud
Keep at least 1 backup at a geographically separate location or in the cloud, to protect your data from local disasters such as fires, floods, or theft.
  • 1 immutable copy
Ensure that 1 copy is stored in an immutable or air-gapped location to protect recovery capabilities in the event of a ransomware attack.
  • 0 backup errors
Verify that your backup is error-free to guarantee that your data is intact and ready to use.

Why you need on-premises or cloud-based backup services

  • Prevent data loss
Protecting your valuable data from damage, accidental deletion, or corruption by backing it up regularly is a must.
  • Guarantee operations during a cyber attack
In the event of a ransomware attack, having an immutable version of your data is essential to keep your business from falling apart. Before we restore any data, we guarantee that we are using the latest clean version.
  • Install a central data platform
With our Cohesity backup solution, you get a centralized backup data platform to manage and protect data stored in multiple locations (on-premises, in the cloud or remote).
