DP World is a global leader in the maritime and logistics industry. Headquartered in Dubai, they manage an extensive network of container terminals and logistics services around the world with a strong focus on innovation and efficiency.

They want to contribute to the growth of their customers by providing them with high quality services. Migrating from Skype to Teams telephony was part of their effort to improve communication and collaboration tools and drive efficiency across their global operations.

The challenge | Training end users to call with Teams

DP World came to Xylos to train end users on Teams telephony, both remotely and onsite. The training sessions were critical to ensure that employees became comfortable using the new tool and could continue their daily activities without interruption.

The project | Teams training from A to Z

DP World asked us to develop custom training and to coordinate the sessions. We provided active support and answered questions to help end users become familiar with Teams telephony and use the tool with confidence.

The key aspects of this assignment:

  • Understanding the existing communication routines and needs of the customer’s users to deliver effective, customized training.
  • Developing training materials and sessions that are both informative and engaging, and that enable users to quickly build the skills they need.
  • Overcoming user fear or resistance to change and focusing on the benefits of the new Teams telephony.
  • Coordinating online and live training sessions.
  • Addressing any technical questions or issues that arise during the training sessions.

The result | Communicating efficiently with Teams

The training has led to great results. DP World employees successfully migrated from Skype to Teams telephony with no significant disruption to their daily activities.

After the training, end users felt competent and confident using Teams for communication and collaboration. Thanks to improved skills, DP World is now also experiencing more efficient and effective internal and external communications.
