Data centralization and reporting at Ahlers

Managing fragmented data across multiple systems can slow down decision-making and reduce efficiency. To address this, we implemented a centralized data platform that streamlines the collection, transformation, and reporting of data and provides real-time insights for better business control.

The customer | Ahlers

Ahlers is a global logistics company that provides end-to-end supply chain solutions across various sectors. It helps businesses optimize transport, storage, and customs operations to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

The challenge | Getting accurate, real-time reports

Ahlers needed a centralized data architecture to improve reporting and operational insights. Its data was scattered across various sources, including Salesforce and Alaska Software, making it difficult to generate accurate real-time reports. It needed an integrated solution to automate data collection, improve visibility, and drive data-driven decision-making.

The approach | A flexible data strategy

To tackle this challenge, we followed a structured, flexible approach:

  • We ran business analysis workshops to align reporting needs and data definitions.

  • We implemented Microsoft Fabric as the central data platform.

  • We used the Medallion Architecture to collect, clean, and standardize data from various sources.

  • We built automated data pipelines for ingestion and transformation.

  • We integrated Power BI for real-time reporting and business insights.

  • Ahlers' internal data teams worked closely with us to refine the data model and ensure accuracy.

The technology | Building a future-proof data ecosystem

We worked with:

  • Microsoft Fabric for data collection, transformation, and storage;

  • Medallion Architecture to ensure structured, scalable data processing;

  • Power BI for comprehensive, interactive business reporting.

The result | Faster insights, better decisions

With this centralized, automated data solution, Ahlers now benefits from:

  • Faster, real-time insights via Power BI dashboards.

  • Less manual effort for data processing and reporting.

  • A single source of truth, leading to better strategic decisions.

  • Improved accuracy and accessibility of data across the organization.

By using Microsoft Fabric and a structured Medallion Architecture, we developed a scalable solution for Ahlers that optimizes its data strategy and improves overall business performance.
