European cybersecurity shifts into high gear
Organizations are facing an increase in cyberattacks, stricter regulations, and a growing dependence on digital systems. As a result, more and more European companies are looking for alternatives to the major—primarily American—suppliers, without compromising on quality.
Eye Security addresses precisely that need. The company was founded in The Hague in 2020 by former experts from the Dutch intelligence and security services. Their guiding principle: medium-sized organizations deserve the same level of cybersecurity expertise as governments and multinational corporations. Today, Eye Security protects more than a thousand clients in the Benelux and DACH regions, with offices in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany.
What makes the investment possible
With the new funding, Eye Security is accelerating its growth in other European countries and further developing its platform. The engineering and threat analysis teams are also expanding, as is the customer service department. Existing investors TIN Capital, J.P. Morgan Growth Equity Partners, and Bessemer Venture Partners remain on board.
“Cyberattacks are getting smarter and faster. Organizations need to have a response to this every day,” says Job Kuijpers, founder and CEO of Eye Security. “Europe needs its own cybersecurity solutions, developed on the basis of European values and independence.”
What this means for you
As a partner, Xylos continues to build on the Eye Security platform. This gives our customers access to security on par with that of large multinational corporations, even without a large in-house security team.
The platform combines automated detection with a 24/7 human-staffed Security Operations Center. Continuous monitoring and rapid incident response provide a single point of contact, both before and after an incident. The company’s own cyber insurance policies complement this approach, a valuable combination now that traditional insurers are pulling out.
For organizations that must comply with the GDPR and NIS2, the European framework provides additional clarity. Eye Security operates entirely within Europe and keeps customer data within the EU.
